# Can I use a Discount code to get a free Gift?

Create a discount code in Shopify based on your requirements and should have 0-value.

**Next**, in the Free Gift app, create a Gift Goal, with a requirement that the discount code created in step (1) must be applied in order to get the gift.

**Configure and Install** the widget of the Discount On Cart app so that customers can apply their discount code on the cart page or drawer cart.

**Test the Code and make sure that the Gift is added in the Cart/Drawer Cart.**
