What is Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS)?
- CCS, also known as Third Party Carrier Calculated Shipping, is a functionality offered by Shopify that enables merchants to display shipping rates from third-party shipping applications and services (UPS, Fedex, USPS etc.).
- CCS rates allow you to charge your customers the exact amount that a shipping carrier, such as UPS or FedEx, will charge. Or if you use a 3rd-party shipping app, it allows you to charge shipping rates beyond what the default Shopify shipping rate configuration can provide.
How to Determine if I Eligible for CCS?
CCS eligibility is based on Shopify plans.
To use third-party carrier-calculated shipping (CCS), your store must be on the Advanced or Plus plan. If you're on the Shopify plan, you can pay the monthly fee to add this feature by contacting Shopify Support.
To verify if your store is CCS-eligible, go to Shopify Store Settings > Shipping and delivery and scroll down the page. If you see “Enable third-party calculated rates at checkout”, that means your Shopify store is NOT CCS-eligible and you either need to upgrade your Shopify plan or pay the monthly fee to add this feature.
If you see “Carrier accounts”, your store is CCS-eligible.
